Pediatric Urology Services

We offer pediatric urology care from prenatal development through age 18. Our expert urologists care for all urologic conditions, including problems of the genitalia.

Prenatal Diagnosis

Using state-of-the-art equipment, our experts are able to detect many urologic conditions before a child is born. Early diagnosis and treatment means that our urologists can prevent many future complications. For example, we can treat some types of obstructions of the bladder of kidneys in the newborn with minimally invasive endoscopic surgical techniques. This will then allow the organs to function normally and help the developing urinary tract to heal as the baby grows.

No matter what your child's age, we believe in treating the urologic condition in the manner that will best preserve organ function. Many times this will be with simple medical treatment and careful follow-up as the child grows and develops. If surgical intervention becomes necessary our goal is to restore normal anatomy and allow normal development to continue. Our pediatric urology team also offers robot-assisted surgery and other minimally invasive techniques for kidney, ureter and bladder reconstruction.

Multidisciplinary Approach

The pediatric urology specialists here work hand-in-hand with other pediatric experts including nephrologists, endocrinologists, oncologists, radiologists, orthopedic surgeons, and neurosurgeons. Some children with complex problems may require the expertise of several specialists for outpatient evaluation or surgery. In this case, specialists will work together of coordinate your child's care.

Compassionate Care

One of the pediatric urology healthcare team's primary goals is the comfort of your child. We do everything possible to ensure that your child's recovery and transition back to regular activities is a smooth one. Whenever possible, our surgeons use techniques to improve recovery time--allowing your child to go home sooner.
