Boy's Arthritis Pain Is Sent Running
In 2009, Nick Pecoraro was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Under the medical care of pediatric rheumatology specialist Karen Onel, MD, Nick's condition improved significantly. With treatment and occupational therapy, he began participating -- and excelling -- in athletic activities. In 2012, Nick became the first athlete in his school to qualify for the state cross-country meet.
