Pediatric Mental Health Care

Our child and adolescent psychiatry program is recognized for leading research, training and clinical care. Many firsts in child and adolescent psychiatry have happened here.

For example, our staff discovered the first genes ever identified for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism. We also helped establish one of the world's most successful approaches to eating disorders. Every day, our patients and their families benefit from the research conducted here on leading-edge medications and therapies.

Outstanding Care for Children of All Ages

Our experts treat infants, children and teens with most types of mental health problems — from schizophrenia and depression to bulimia nervosa.

Specialized, Adolescent-Focused Programs

Our adolescent services are designed to meet the clinical needs of children ages 12 to 18, collaborating with parents, caregivers, schools and social services agencies to ensure continuity of care and follow-up services. An adolescent may be eligible for treatment if they exhibit signs of prolonged sadness, bizarre behaviors, suicidal thoughts, self-injurious behaviors, uncontrollable anger and aggression, and disturbances in eating, sleeping and ability to perform daily activities.

Our specialists will work collaboratively with your community providers. Our team includes board-certified psychiatrists, licensed clinical therapists, advanced practice psychiatric nurses (APNs), and ecreation and expressive therapists.
