Educational Events for Nurses

The University of Chicago Infection Prevention Outreach team hosts monthly educational web meetings for school nurses in Chicago and the surrounding region. This grass roots collaboration is designed to bring together nurses -- who are often the sole health care provider for many students and teachers -- and help standardize the care students receive in our schools.

During the meeting, a University of Chicago Medicine clinician presents an infectious topic that is either of current concern or chosen by the nurses. After the presentation, nurses are invited to discuss what they are seeing in their schools, how they are currently handling this disease, and what approaches may be more beneficial and efficient.
