'A Different Kid Now': Ketogenic Diet Transforms Life for Boy with Intractable Epilepsy

With constant seizures day and night, William Sterling was confined to a wheelchair and could barely walk or talk. Medication was not effective, and surgery was not an option. At age 9, William came to the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital -- one of only three hospitals in Illinois offering ketogenic diets for children with intractable epilepsy. Since starting his diet, William is seizure-free for the first time since he was an infant.


From Constant Seizures to Almost None
