Getting Involved

Volunteers at the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital play a vital role in the care of our patients and families. By reading a story to a child, working on an art project with a teenager, or rocking an infant to sleep, volunteers brighten patients' spirits and help to reduce the anxiety surrounding a hospital visit.
To qualify, volunteers must:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Make a time commitment: At least four hours a week for six months or 100 hours minimum
