Our Childhood Lymphoma Care Team

James Nachman, MD James Nachman, MD

Our hematologist/oncologists work with physicians from several disciplines including hematopathology, radiation oncology, pediatric surgery, and interventional and diagnostic radiology, along with nurse specialists, child life specialists and social workers. This multidisciplinary team provides outstanding clinical care to children battling lymphomas and other cancers. They provide family-centered care, not only to the child, but also to the family that is affected by a diagnosis of cancer.

The primary lymphoma team includes:
James Nachman, MD, a renowned cancer expert, Dr. Nachman is a leader in the Children’s Oncology Group’s (COG) Hodgkin disease study committee.

Tara Henderson, MD, is a specialist in development of second cancers in childhood cancer survivors.

John M. Cunningham, MD, is an internationally recognized leader in the field of pediatric stem cell transplantation. He has developed novel uses for this life-saving treatment.

James Vardiman, MD, and John Anastasi, MD, are hematopathologists who play a critical role in the diagnosis of lymphoma. Because of their high level of expertise and state-of-the art techniques, their diagnostic lab receives blood samples from around the nation.

Philip Connell, MD, is an expert in radiotherapy with an emphasis on radiation oncology for pediatric malignancies.
