Eligibility & How to Apply

To be eligible for the Fellowship Program, the candidate must have a MD degree and the qualifications to obtain a license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois. The candidate must be a resident in pediatrics at the PL-2 level or higher at an ACGME -accredited program or have completed this training. Upon completion of a Pediatric Residency Program, the candidate must become eligible to take board examinations in Pediatrics offered by the American Board of Pediatrics. For candidates who lack these specific qualifications, such as those applying from outside of the United States, applications will be considered on an individual basis.

Applications for first year positions starting July 2010 will be handled through the ERAS program and should include three letters of recommendation from medical faculty members who are familiar with the candidate’s clinical or research performance. This is a December Application Cycle program. Applicants may begin applying to the program on November 15, 2008. Applications will be reviewed starting on December 1, 2008. The program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and the match takes place in May of 2009 for the 2010 fellowship start date.
