Allergy and Asthma Research

Besides being experts in the clinical care of allergy and immune disorders, doctors at Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago are advancing research on what causes these conditions as well. One of our allergy and immunology experts is involved in a collaborative study to evaluate the roles that genes and the environment play in the development of asthma in African-American, Caucasian, and Hispanic ethnic groups.

Our experts are also involved in community research to further the detection of asthma--recently completing two projects that established asthma screening and education in schools.
