Remarkable Woman: Dana Suskind

Pediatric surgeon helps children hear, but that's just the beginning

On February 10, 2013, the Chicago Tribune featured a story about Dana Suskind, MD, whose work with cochlear implants delivers the gift of sound to children born unable to hear.

"Cochlear implantation is a modern medical miracle. More than bringing the beauty of sound to a deaf child, it changes his or her whole life's course. It's incredible to be a part of the process; I'm honored every time parents allow me into their child's life," said Dr. Suskind, explaining what drew her to the field of cochlear implants.
