The First Float of the Parade

Mattie Moore, nurse assistant, and Dr. Herbert Abelson, former chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, escort the first patient to the new children's hospital. Moore has worked for the University of Chicago Hospitals for more than 40 years and moved the first patient into the old Wyler Children's Hospital when it was built in the 1960s. They are accompanied by friends from the Brookfield Zoo.
