Labor Preparation and Infant Care for Expectant Parents

For patients who do not plan to take Lamaze, we suggest this free four-week class that includes childbirth education and infant care. The infant care sessions explain how to provide basic physical and emotional care for your newborn and young infant, as well as normal growth and development, and infant CPR and safety. The childbirth education session reviews the stages of labor and management strategies.

This is a great class for first-time parents. We suggest you finish this series at least one month before your baby's due date.

This series is open to University of Chicago Medical Center patients only.
