The University of Chicago Medicine, University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center and Gilda’s Club Chicago formed a partnership to provide our oncology patients and their families on-site access to Gilda’s Club Chicago’s support community. The University of Chicago Medicine is top-ranked in Illinois for cancer care according to U.S. News & World Report and the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of only two programs in Illinois designated by the National Cancer Institute as a comprehensive cancer center.

Activities and Support Groups for Pediatric and Teen Patients
Outpatient Clinic Weekly Activities
Every Friday, 9 a.m. to noon
Comer Children's Hospital, 2nd Floor
5721 S. Maryland Avenue, Chicago IL
A fun way for children and teens to pass the time in between appointments and treatments and get to know others who are undergoing similar circumstances. Parents are welcome to participate, too. Activities will include: arts and crafts, music, and creative writing.

Activities and Support Groups for Adult Patients
Every Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM), 4th floor atrium
5758 S. Maryland Avenue, Chicago, IL
Activities include: support/networking groups; healing arts and movement workshops, such as yoga, tai chi and art classes; and various educational programs, lectures, workshops and social events. Each event is drop in style -- participants are free to come and go as needed.

Parenting Through Cancer
Fourth Thursday of every month, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Comer Children's Hospital, Room K601
A networking group for parents and guardians to share information and experiences about parenting children with cancer. This group is facilitated by Jamie Mazer Weiner, MA, LCPC.
Caregiver Support Group
Third Wednesday of every month, from 11 a.m. to noon
Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM), 4th floor atrium
5758 S. Maryland Avenue, Chicago, IL
This group is designed for family members and friends supporting a loved one living with cancer. Transportation assistance is available to this event from the main Clubhouse location at 537 N. Wells Street.

About Gilda's Club Chicago
Gilda's Club Chicago opened their signature red door in 1998. The Gilda’s Club mission is to create welcoming communities of free support for everyone living with cancer--men, women, teens and children--along with their families and friends. Their innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities. Membership and the program are free of charge. They offer support and networking groups, lectures, workshops and social events in a home-like clubhouse.
