University of Chicago Medical Center, University of Chicago Cancer Research Center and Gilda's Club Chicago Form Partnership
The University of Chicago Medical Center, University of Chicago Cancer Research Center and Gilda’s Club Chicago formed a partnership to provide our oncology patients and their families on-site access to Gilda’s Club Chicago’s support community. UCMC is the only Illinois hospital ever ranked on the U.S.News & World Report Honor Roll and is top-ranked for cancer care 12 years in a row. The University of Chicago Cancer Research Center is one of only two programs in Illinois designated by the National Cancer Institute as a comprehensive cancer center.
Activities offered at UCMC include:
- Support/networking groups, facilitated by a licensed mental health professional
- Healing arts and movement workshops such as yoga, tai chi and art classes
- Various educational programs, lectures, workshops and social events

About Gilda's Club Chicago
Gilda's Club Chicago opened their signature red door in 1998. The Gilda’s Club mission is to create welcoming communities of free support for everyone living with cancer--men, women, teens and children--along with their families and friends. Their innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities. Membership and the program are free of charge. They offer support and networking groups, lectures, workshops and social events in a home-like clubhouse.
